Hi, I’m Sparky, and I’d like to tell you about myself. I’m very affectionate, and I love attention. In fact, when you pet me, I’ll jump up like a kangaroo to meet your hand! My favorite things are perching in a window so I can watch the world outside and…FOOD. I really love my food! I hope you’ll come visit me. I’m was really scared when I arrived at PAWS, but lots of volunteers petted me and made a fuss over me, so I'm much more relaxed now.

Hope to see you soon during our open hours!

Molly Weasley

Female - spayed
Domestic shorthair, orange tabby
DOB: EST 6/1/15

- Should do well in a quiet home with children, another female cat, and/or a dog.
- Was unhappy in her former small home with two cats and a dog.

Hi, I'm Molly Weasley. I'm named after a Harry Potter character with red hair, so I guess my name kind of makes sense. Molly Weasley is pretty brave, though, and she's a mom with a whole bunch of noisy kids. I'm not very brave, and I sure don't like noise, so when I stay at PAWS on weekends, my most favorite place is underneath my cat bed where you can't see me and I can't see you! People say I'm a gentle soul, though, and that I wouldn't hurt a flea, so I guess I'm a pretty darn nice cat. If you'd like to visit me, please come to PAWS on Saturday or Sunday. I'd like to meet you -- really! I'll even peek out from under my cat bed to say hello. =^..^=

- Should do well in a home with children, other cats, and/or dogs.
- Mom of Layla, Daisy Mae, and Peek-a-Boo.
- Stray. Rescuer was unable to keep her.

I'm Hope and I Hope to be your new, tiny companion! I weigh only five-and-a-half pounds, so I'm perfect for the cat owner who has a bad back. Just think how easy it will be to lift me into the car to take me for my annual vet check-up! My foster mom says I'm really smart because I know just where she keeps the kitty treats. I like to follow her around the house, especially when she heads for the kitchen! Please come visit me. I'll be at PAWS on Saturday and Sunday waiting for you!

As a gift to my future family in memory of a former PAWS cat named Rosie, my PAWS Guardian Angel has generously paid my adoption fee.

Female - spayed
Domestic medium hair, black & white tuxedo
DOB: EST 7/6/06

- Should do well in a home with one submissive cat; dogs unknown.
- Probably would be happiest as an only cat.
- Would not do well in a home with children.
- Owner passed away.

Hello, I'm Tulip, and in view of my name, PAWS has asked me to wish you a Happy Spring! (I'd like to wish you a Happy Summer, too, in case I'm not adopted this spring. Sadly, I've waited a long, long time for my forever home.) PAWS has also asked me to tell you about myself. I am, in one word, discriminating. (Some people would say I'm picky.) I don't like just everyone, but if I do like you, I'll jump onto your lap, purr, and rub up against you. If I don't like you, I may nip, so if you reach out to pet me, watch my body language, and if my tail is swishing, you'd better find another cat to pet!

If I like you, please consider adopting me because I'm likely to be a loyal, loving companion. You'll need to be a cat savvy person with a quiet home, preferably with no other cats, although I may be OK with one cat as long as I get to be Queen of the Household!

So please stop by and ask to meet me. I'm here all the time just waiting for the right person to love who will love me back!

- Surrendered to PAWS because she was being attacked by other pets in the home.

Warning! If you plan to visit PAWS to hang out with our wonderful cats, but you don't actually want to adopt one, you might want to avoid meeting Sophie. Pretty Girl

Female - spayed
Domestic shorthair, calico
DOB: EST 11/30/14

- Should do well in a home with quiet, older children and/or certain cats; dogs unknown.
- Stray. Rescuer was unable to keep her.

Pretty Girl's foster mom says, "Wow – is Pretty Girl a nice cat! The first few days she was here, she hid. And not just in normal places – I really had to look for her. She wedged herself behind a desk, in a tiny crevice behind my desktop computer, and in such small spaces. I think she is a magician!

"Once she came out of her shell a few days later, she became such an affectionate kitty! She’s not interested in treats or toys or the laser pointer – she just wants to be petted, held, or on your lap, and she seems to want as much attention as she can get. If someone can be a little patient with her, she will be a wonderful cat! I’m so glad we brought her home, and I could get to know her!"

Hi, I'm Vienna, and I'm very glad to meet you! I may seem a bit shy in my cage at PAWS, but when I'm in my foster home, I'm a whole different kitten. My foster mom says I'm the most cuddly kitten she's ever had. Ever! I love to curl up in her arms and snuggle for hours. Sometimes we watch TV together. Male - neutered
Domestic shorthair,
DOB: EST 10/15/10

- May do well in a home with quiet, older children, a submissive female cat, and/or a quiet, mellow dog.
- Surrendered to PAWS because he wasn't a good fit for his family.

Squishy Pickle's holiday foster mom says he was immediately comfortable and happy in her home. "Squishy has settled in and is a pleasure to have as my foster this year. He greets visitors and then settles down and watches everything that goes on. He's lively at night, running around and exploring. I play with him every evening, and he really enjoys the feather wand. Squish is already curling up next to me in bed. And – drum roll please! – he trusts me enough to rub his tummy! He is really a loving boy. I would definitely recommend him to anyone looking for a loving, only cat." You can make the Squish's acquaintance whenever we're open.

Please note that Squishy was unhappy, grumpy, and growly in his former home. At PAWS, he's curious and friendly but upset by loud noises. Thus, we think he'll do best with cat-savvy adopters in a quiet, adults-only home.

Female - spayed
Domestic shorthair, black w/small white locket
DOB: EST 7/2/16

- Should do well in a home with children, other cats, and/or dogs.
- Stray. Rescuer was unable to keep her.

Mango's foster mom says, "Mango is full of sweetness and is just a ball of energy. She is an all-around funny and entertaining cat and loves to roll around with her toys (or any random objects lying around that she will turn into a toy). She takes frequent breaks from her playtime to jump up on the bed for pettings. Mango is very affectionate and just soaks up attention - she loves to rub against us and give kisses! She is also vocal and will give us a meow when she wants us to pay attention to her. Mango's tail is slightly bent at the end as it had been broken and healed before she came to PAWS, but it doesn't seem to bother her at all and doesn’t hinder any of her activities. She is such a sweetheart and loves spending time with her sister, Tangerine (also available for adoption)."

Hello, I'm Pumpkin, and this is my story. I showed up in a neighborhood one day, and some people in the neighborhood started feeding me. I had big sores on my face that really hurt, so they took me to PAWS. I knew I must look really bad because when the people at PAWS saw me, they said things like, "Oh no!" and "Poor baby!" and "He needs to go to the vet right away." Long story short, I got fixed up at the vet's office, and my face is almost healed. The volunteers even let me look at myself in a mirror, and I discovered that I'm a pretty handsome guy! Now I'm ready to have my own people and a home where I can stay forever. If you think you want me to be your new buddy, hurry up and visit me the next time PAWS is open!

- Abandoned at a local business.

"I'm scared. I'm scared. I AM SO SCARED!

UPDATE: I've been here for a few days, and the humans really are nice, but I'm still kind of scared, so if somebody tries to pick me up or pets me too hard, I might nip. The other cats are nice, too, but since I'm scared of them too, I hiss and run after them, then they hiss and run after me. Honestly, I mostly just run around and get into trouble. I'm kind of like the kid at recess who gets hollered at all the time because he doesn't know how to play well with others. Sometimes I even get sent to detention in my cage.

- Should do well in a home with older children, another FeLV+ or FeLV+/FIV+ cat and/or a dog.
- Stray. Rescuer was unable to keep him.

Hi, I'm Craig Morgan, and here at PAWS, I'm known as the "Basement Cat." That's because I live in the basement because I'm shy and also because I have two (not one, but two) viruses. You could say I kind of won the lottery. Except in reverse 'cause instead of winning a big pot of cat toys and catnip, I got two viruses. :(

Anyway, when I arrived at PAWS in February, 2016, I was so scared and shy that nobody could get near me. But volunteers have been visiting me in the basement at least twice a day to take care of me and socialize me. Now some people can get so close to me that they can sneak in a few quick pets! And I've been promoted to Cat in Charge of Basement Activities. I attend PAWS Board meetings, supervise the dogs who visit the basement, show volunteers where to put bags of food and cat litter in the storage room, and make sure everything's shipshape in my basement domain!

Now I'm ready to be adopted, but it's going to take someone really, really, really special to adopt me. So everyone says, "Don't get your hopes up, Craig." But I think there might be someone out there for me, so I'm gonna keep hoping my person will find me. You can visit me in the basement if you ask to see me. I'll give you a personal tour!

- Owner was no longer able to care for her.

Roxie has a purr like a motorboat and a deep love for feather toys! Roxie is the kind of kitty who will pick her person. That is, she likes some humans a lot and is indifferent (even a little grumpy!) with others. We suggest you stop by during our open hours and find out if Roxie likes you! We promise she won't hurt your feelings (OK, maybe just a little), but if she likes you, you're going to feel pretty darn good about yourself!

You can learn more about Roxie by clicking on this link to the PAWS Blog:

http://goo.gl/8QpH5s

Please be aware that Roxie has some special medical needs that an adoption counselor or a member of our medical staff would be happy to discuss with you if you're interested in adopting her.

- Rescuer moved and was unable to take her along.

Hi, I’m Bobber,

I'm pretty shy, so when you meet me at PAWS, you won't be able to tell what I'll be like when you take me home. In fact, the only thing you'll be able to tell about me is that my short tail is adorable!

- My most favorite things are playing ball and hiding in boxes.
- And treats. I LOVE treats.
- Once I get to know you really well, I'll let you pet me AND I'll let you give me some treats!

Please visit PAWS and ask to meet me. You can visit me whenever PAWS is open.

Love from Bobber!

Female - spayed
Domestic shorthair, torbie
DOB: EST 11/16/2000

- Should do well in a home with older children, other cats, and/or dogs.
- Returned to PAWS because she wasn't a good fit for her family.

Tabby is a friendly, senior kitty who especially likes being scratched under her chin and who loves treats. Tabby is waiting a little impatiently for her forever home! We recently suggested that Tabby write a poem describing how impatient she feels inside.

There once was a kitty named Tabby,
Tired of waiting, she said, “I feel crabby.”
She wants a new home,
Townhouse, flat, or a dome.
Or she’s moving to Westminster Abbey!

Once you see how sweet Tabby is (actually, not at all crabby!), you'll want to adopt her, so don't make her wait any longer! You can stop by and fill out an application for Tabby whenever we're open.

The brothers were members of the Crayons Kittens I -- a whole bunch of PAWS kittens we named after crayon colors. These two furry crayons have been waiting patiently for someone to adopt them. And, although you might not think metallic bronze (Sunburst) and purple (Plum) crayons don't go together, these two brothers go together quite well! In fact, their foster mom says they snuggle with each other all day long.

So, get out your coloring book, find a page that needs a couple of crayons, and apply to adopt Sunburst and Plum before all the good colors are gone! You can meet them on Saturdays and Sundays.
