- Domestic shorthair, brown/black ticked tabby
- DOB: EST 10/22/03

- We don’t yet know if Fred would do well in a home with children, other cats, and/or dogs.
- Owner was no longer able to care for him.

Fred is a sweet, affectionate guy who's always happy to see people in the PAWS lobby where he hangs out on weekends. Fred's foster family reports that, “Fred is a gentle, big boy who loves to sit quietly and watch out the window. He’s on the shy side and is happy to just be in the room with you.”

Fred has diabetes that is controlled with insulin given twice a day. His foster family says he’s very good about getting his insulin. “It’s easy to hold him still and quickly give him his shot.”

The Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine says a diabetic cat can live many healthy years. You can read more from Cornell here: http://www.vet.cornell.edu/fhc/Health_Information/brochure_diabetes.cfm and a PAWS Adoption Counselor will be happy to talk to you about Fred's diabetes if you're interested in adopting him.

Hello there! I’m Spunky, and I’m supposed to tell you about myself. Hmmm, let me see. I’m two years old, so I’m right in the prime of life. I’m handsome, of course. That goes without saying! I have a cute, high-pitched meow, I'm gentle, and when I gaze at you, begging for attention, it’s gonna melt your heart! I always want to be the highest cat on the cat tree. I’m not that into other cats, but I get along with them OK, and when I was a kid, I loved to wrestle with my brothers. (Not so much now, it messes up my fur.)

Stop by so I can gaze into your eyes during our open hours.

Best!
Spunky

Female - spayed
Domestic shorthair, black
DOB: EST 2/19/05

- Front declawed.
- Should do well in a home with adults or adults and teens.
- We don't know if Roxie would do well in a home with other cats or with dogs.
- Owner was no longer able to care for her.

Hi, I’m Roxie, and everyone says I’m adorable. I have a round face and great big golden eyes. My favorite things are feather toys, people, and FOOD. Especially food! I’m a little picky when it comes to people, though. Some I like, some I don’t, and it can take a little while for me to warm up when I meet a new one. But if I decide that I like you, I’ll be your sweet and friendly girl! I would be a great companion for someone who wants an only cat.

So now you’re wondering why I’ve been waiting for my people to find me since February 19, 2016 (the longest of any cat at PAWS except for Craig Morgan!). First off, people think I’m old, but I’m not! At age 12, I’m considered a “senior" cat. (And everyone says 12 is the new 8!) Second, I have diabetes, so people think it’ll be too much trouble to take care of me. But my diabetes is controlled with a special diet and an inexpensive oral medication that gets sprinkled on my food. The Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine says a diabetic cat can live many healthy years! You can read more from Cornell here: http://www.vet.cornell.edu/fhc/Health_Information/brochure_diabetes.cfm

Meanwhile, I have to live in a room all by myself 24/7 to be sure I don’t eat the other cats’ food. It gets really lonely here, so even if you don’t want to adopt me, I sure wish you’d visit me for a few rounds of feather toy! You'll find me here all the time waiting for my new home. =^..^=

Hi, I'm Vienna, and I'm very glad to meet you! I may seem a bit shy in my cage at PAWS, but when I'm in my foster home, I'm a whole different kitten. My foster mom says I'm the most cuddly kitten she's ever had. Ever! I love to curl up in her arms and snuggle for hours. Sometimes we watch TV together. If you want to come visit me, I'll tell you about my favorite TV shows. (Hint: They're all on a channel called Animal Planet!)

I'll be waiting for you on Saturday and Sunday. =^..^=

Male - neutered
Domestic shorthair, gray
DOB: EST 2/5/12

- Positive for both Feline Leukemia Virus and Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FeLV+ and FIV+).
- Should do well in a home with older children, another FeLV+ or FeLV+/FIV+ cat and/or a dog.
- Stray. Rescuer was unable to keep him.

Hi, I'm Craig Morgan, and here at PAWS, I'm known as the "Basement Cat." That's because I live in the basement because I'm shy and also because I have two (not one, but two) viruses. You could say I kind of won the lottery. Except in reverse 'cause instead of winning a big pot of cat toys and catnip, I got two viruses. :(

Anyway, when I arrived at PAWS in February, 2016, I was so scared and shy that nobody could get near me. But volunteers have been visiting me in the basement at least twice a day to take care of me and socialize me. Now some people can get so close to me that they can sneak in a few quick pets! And I've been promoted to Cat in Charge of Basement Activities. I attend PAWS Board meetings, supervise the dogs who visit the basement, show volunteers where to put bags of food and cat litter in the storage room, and make sure everything's shipshape in my basement domain!

Now I'm ready to be adopted, but it's going to take someone really, really, really special to adopt me. So everyone says, "Don't get your hopes up, Craig." But I think there might be someone out there for me, so I'm gonna keep hoping my person will find me. You can visit me in the basement if you ask to see me. I'll give you a personal tour!

Female - spayed
Domestic shorthair, brown tabby
DOB: EST 11/15/08

- Front declawed.
- Should do well in a home with children, other cats, and/or dogs. Would like to be only cat or with an older, mellow cat.
- Owner was no longer able to care for her.

Gigi's holiday foster dad said Gigi enjoyed her vacation! “It took Gigi a few days to get comfortable in our home, but when she came out from under the bed, she really enjoyed being petted and playing. Gigi LOVES lying on her back and playing with balls or small stuffed cat toys. By the end of the first week, we were able to slowly re-introduce her to our two dogs and Gigi’s foster sister, Hermione. Gigi had free rein of the house from that point forward. She would still sometimes sleep underneath the bed, but would also sleep in her cat bed or on top of the human beds. Gigi became very comfortable roaming around our home over the past week.”

DOB: EST 12/16/13

- Should do well in a home with children and/or other cats; dogs unknown.
- Wanted to go outside with adopter's outdoor cats.

Lady is quiet, well-mannered, and, of course, ladylike! Her former foster mom says Lady is a very sweet kitty who will run up and greet you with a meow. She loves to drop and roll in front of you and enjoys a belly rub. Lady’s foster mom was eventually able to hold Lady cradled in her arms like a baby! “She would lie on the couch and nestle next to my teenage son and daughter. She loves to play with her mouse toys and chase laser lights. She loves her treats.”

We think Lady is the purr-fect kitty for you! You can meet her during our open hours.

Domestic shorthair,
DOB: EST 10/15/10

- May do well in a home with quiet, older children, a submissive female cat, and/or a quiet, mellow dog.
- Surrendered to PAWS because he wasn't a good fit for his family.

Squishy Pickle's holiday foster mom says he was immediately comfortable and happy in her home. "Squishy has settled in and is a pleasure to have as my foster this year. He greets visitors and then settles down and watches everything that goes on. He's lively at night, running around and exploring. I play with him every evening, and he really enjoys the feather wand. Squish is already curling up next to me in bed. And – drum roll please! – he trusts me enough to rub his tummy! He is really a loving boy. I would definitely recommend him to anyone looking for a loving, only cat." You can make the Squish's acquaintance whenever we're open.

Please note that Squishy was unhappy, grumpy, and growly in his former home. At PAWS, he's curious and friendly but upset by loud noises. Thus, we think he'll do best with cat-savvy adopters in a quiet, adults-only home.

I'm Hope and I hope to be your new, little companion cat! I may be little for three years old, but there is still plenty of kitten in me. At my foster home, I love to play with my toys, especially my pink mouse. I chase it all over the house. My two favorite things are treats and having my neck scratched.

I'm a good girl and don't jump on the table or counters. The only thing I jump on is the sofa where I have my own spot and comfy blanket, which is where I sleep at night. I'm very neat when it comes to eating and using my litter box. I don't mind car rides, and I sit quietly in my carrier.

I'm a little shy at first, so you need to approach me slowly, but once you scratch my neck, you will see what I sweet little girl I am. Please come visit me. I'll be at PAWS on Saturday and Sunday waiting for you!

- May do well in a home with older, cat savvy children or teens but possibly best in an adults-only home.
- May get along in a home with certain cats but may do best as an only cat.
- Abandoned at a local business.

Hey Guys, I’m Barney and I’d like to be your friend! If you’re looking for a funny, friendly, super high energy buddy who loves people and loves to play, you should meet me! Some things you should know about me first, though. I get so excited when I’m around people that I kind of act like a kitten. I pretend legs are tree trunks, so I climb people’s jeans. (Do NOT wear capris around me. Seriously. No bare legs.) And I like to pretend hands are mice or bunnies, so I try to wrestle them to the ground and nip them. The people here say I’m really sweet but that I get over stimulated, so I need an adopter who’s experienced with cats. And when it comes to other cats, well, they say I “don’t play well with others.” I run after other cats and hiss at them and just generally make a nuisance of myself. :( But I’m really a nice guy; I'm even a lap cat! I just need to learn some manners. You can see me in action whenever we’re open. And remember, no capris!

She is quite a little lovey, but she likes to remain in control of the relationship. If she wants your attention and rubbing against you hasn’t done the trick, she will stand on her back feet until you bend down to pet her. She also stands on her back feet if she wants to see something up higher. She has fabulous balance!"

- Should do well in a home with one submissive cat; dogs unknown.
- Probably would be happiest as an only cat.
- Would not do well in a home with children.
- Owner passed away.

Hello, I'm Tulip, and in view of my name, PAWS has asked me to wish you a Happy Spring! (I'd like to wish you a Happy Summer, too, in case I'm not adopted this spring. Sadly, I've waited a long, long time for my forever home.) PAWS has also asked me to tell you about myself. I am, in one word, discriminating. (Some people would say I'm picky.) I don't like just everyone, but if I do like you, I'll jump onto your lap, purr, and rub up against you. If I don't like you, I may nip, so if you reach out to pet me, watch my body language, and if my tail is swishing, you'd better find another cat to pet!

If I like you, please consider adopting me because I'm likely to be a loyal, loving companion. You'll need to be a cat savvy person with a quiet home, preferably with no other cats, although I may be OK with one cat as long as I get to be Queen of the Household!

So please stop by and ask to meet me. I'm here all the time just waiting for the right person to love who will love me back!

- We don't yet know whether Cindy Sue would do well in a home with children.
- Would not do well in a home with other cats; dogs unknown.
- Owner passed away.

Cindy Sue is slowly adjusting to her new environment here at PAWS. If she seems grumpy when you visit her, it's because she's scared and sad. Reportedly, she was sweet and friendly in her former home, and we have every expectation that the real Cindy Sue will show up soon! You can meet Cindy Sue whenever PAWS is open.

Hi, I’m Sparky, and I’d like to tell you about myself. I’m very affectionate, and I love attention. In fact, when you pet me, I’ll jump up like a kangaroo to meet your hand! My favorite things are perching in a window so I can watch the world outside and…FOOD. I really love my food! I hope you’ll come visit me. I’m was really scared when I arrived at PAWS, but lots of volunteers petted me and made a fuss over me, so I'm much more relaxed now.

Female - spayed
Domestic shorthair, torbie
DOB: EST 11/16/2000

- Should do well in a home with older children, other cats, and/or dogs.
- Returned to PAWS because she wasn't a good fit for her family.

Tabby is a friendly, senior kitty who especially likes being scratched under her chin and who loves treats. Tabby is waiting a little impatiently for her forever home! We recently suggested that Tabby write a poem describing how impatient she feels inside.

There once was a kitty named Tabby,
Tired of waiting, she said, “I feel crabby.”
She wants a new home,
Townhouse, flat, or a dome.
Or she’s moving to Westminster Abbey!

Once you see how sweet Tabby is (actually, not at all crabby!), you'll want to adopt her, so don't make her wait any longer! You can stop by and fill out an application for Tabby whenever we're open.
