Guardian Angel Program Tulip

As a gift to my future family in memory of a former PAWS cat named Rosie, my PAWS Guardian Angel has generously paid my adoption fee.

Female - spayed
Domestic medium hair, black & white tuxedo
DOB: EST 7/6/06

- We don't yet know whether Tulip will do well with children, other cats, and/or dogs.
- Owner passed away.

Tulip lets you know with big purrs and little kisses that she loves to be petted, eat treats, and sit on your lap. She's discovered the joy of jumping, running, and pouncing on toys that fly through the air, and once she trusts you, she is a chatty catty! Tulip needs a quiet home with patient adults who will let her flower at her own pace. With time and love, Tulip will bond with her owners and become a loyal and adoring pet.

You can visit Tulip whenever we're open.

- Should do well in a home with one calm, friendly cat.
- Should not be in a home with dogs.
- Surrendered to PAWS because she was being attacked by other pets in the home.
- Sweet, gentle, and loving.

Warning! If you plan to visit PAWS to hang out with our wonderful cats, but you don't actually want to adopt one, you might want to avoid meeting Sophie. Because when you meet Sophie, you will fall totally in love with her, and you will find yourself coming up with all sorts of reasons why, really, you do want to adopt a cat after all.

Guardian Angel Program Hammy

As a gift to my future family in memory of Doris Davis, my PAWS Guardian Angel has generously paid my adoption fee.

Male - neutered
Domestic shorthair, orange & white tabby
DOB: EST 12/20/10

- Should do well in a home with other cats; dogs unknown.
- We don't yet know if Hammy would do well in a home with children.
- Stray. Rescuer was unable to keep him.

Hammy's holiday foster mom says he's a big...ham! "Hammy is very, very affectionate. He’s a bit shy at first and requires some coaxing to trust you, but once he has given his trust to you, it’s all yours. He will turn out to be the naughtiest, most adorable cat on earth! Hammy absolutely loves biting his catnip toys and then running around the room like a crazed maniac. He loves pouncing on his foster brother, Kudo, to get him to play. Hammy also loves randomly climbing onto your lap and curling up, especially while you’re trying to get some work done! One thing Hammy dislikes is being held by humans. He likes choosing to come and curl up on his humans, rather than having his humans pick him up.”

You can make Hammy's acquaintance during our open hours.

Guardian Angel Program Kudo

As a gift to my future family, in memory of Doris Davis, my PAWS Guardian Angel has generously paid my adoption fee.

Male - neutered
Domestic shorthair, orange & white tabby
DOB: EST 12/20/10

- Should do well in a home with other cats as long as they're introduced slowly; dogs unknown.
- We don't yet know if Kudo would do well in a home with children, but he's a friendly boy.
- Stray. Rescuer was unable to keep him.

Kudo's holiday foster mom has lots of good things to say about him! "Kudo is very friendly and loves being petted. He shows his dignity by not approaching and asking for affection, but waiting until his humans approach him and pet him – you can hear his anticipation in the way he starts purring the instant you walk into the room. He also likes being picked up and carried around like a baby. Kudo is quietly affectionate – he will creep into your bed in the wee hours of the morning and start licking your hands and arms to show his love. He absolutely loves running behind lasers and catnip toys. Kudo is good with visitors, and goes up to them to sniff them when they come over. However, he gets a little startled by people who have loud voices."

In other words, Kudos for Kudo! You can make Kudo's acquaintance whenever we're open.

Male - neutered
Domestic shorthair,
DOB: EST 10/15/10

- May do well in a home with quiet, older children, a submissive female cat, and/or a quiet, mellow dog.
- Surrendered to PAWS because he wasn't a good fit for his family.

Squishy Pickle's holiday foster mom says he was immediately comfortable and happy in her home. "Squishy has settled in and is a pleasure to have as my foster this year. He greets visitors and then settles down and watches everything that goes on. He's lively at night, running around and exploring. I play with him every evening, and he really enjoys the feather wand. Squish is already curling up next to me in bed. And – drum roll please! – he trusts me enough to rub his tummy! He is really a loving boy. I would definitely recommend him to anyone looking for a loving, only cat." You can make the Squish's acquaintance whenever we're open.

Please note that Squishy was unhappy, grumpy, and growly in his former home. At PAWS, he's curious and friendly but upset by loud noises. Thus, we think he'll do best with cat-savvy adopters in a quiet, adults-only home.

Female - spayed
Domestic shorthair, brown tabby
DOB: EST 11/15/08

- Front declawed.
- Should do well in a home with children, other cats, and/or dogs. Would like to be only cat or with an older, mellow cat.
- Owner was no longer able to care for her.

Gigi's holiday foster dad said Gigi enjoyed her vacation! “It took Gigi a few days to get comfortable in our home, but when she came out from under the bed, she really enjoyed being petted and playing. Gigi LOVES lying on her back and playing with balls or small stuffed cat toys. By the end of the first week, we were able to slowly re-introduce her to our two dogs and Gigi’s foster sister, Hermione. Gigi had free rein of the house from that point forward. She would still sometimes sleep underneath the bed, but would also sleep in her cat bed or on top of the human beds. Gigi became very comfortable roaming around our home over the past week.”

Hello there! I’m Spunky, and I’m supposed to tell you about myself. Hmmm, let me see. I’m two years old, so I’m right in the prime of life. I’m handsome, of course. That goes without saying! I have a cute, high-pitched meow, I'm gentle, and when I gaze at you, begging for attention, it’s gonna melt your heart! I always want to be the highest cat on the cat tree. I’m not that into other cats, but I get along with them OK, and when I was a kid, I loved to wrestle with my brothers. (Not so much now, it messes up my fur.)

Voskos’s holiday foster mom says he’s a well-behaved cat. “He didn’t try to snatch ornaments off the tree, and he visited with friends and family and allowed many children to pet him. He always likes to be near you and be petted (although he’s not a lap cat and isn’t crazy about being picked up). His favorite things to play with are balls and rubber/hair bands. He also enjoys playing with toys on strings.”

- Front declawed.
- Should do well in a home with children and/or other cats.
- Would not do well in a home with a dog.
- Owner moved and no longer had room for her.

Hoppy's holiday foster mom said, "Hoppy was such a sweet cat. I really see her as a good companion cat in a quiet home. She isn't a lap cat but she would jump up on the couch and snuggle next to you. She isn't the type of cat that requests constant pets or is a purr-machine. She just wants to be with everyone and is perfectly content with sitting next to you or, when we were in the kitchen, she was happy to sit next to our sliding glass windows and look outside.

"My little 3-year-old cousin came over the one evening and Hoppy tolerated her decently. My cousin just wanted to sit next to Hoppy and pet her, and as long as she wasn't loud, Hoppy stayed put. It was pretty cute. So Hoppy can tolerate young kids, but I still think she would be best with older kids/not a ton of excitement."

If you're interested in adopting a gentle, good-natured, companion, Hoppy might be the right kitty for you! You can find out by visiting Hoppy during our open hours.

Indigo: "What an adorable cat! As soon as we brought him home, he was nothing but a snuggle bug. He loves to be held – happy to be pet, rubbed, etc. He lies on his back and lets you rub his belly. He kneads CONSTANTLY, but he never uses his claws. He loved up to his foster brother kitty right away and the two were grooming each other within the first hour."

Mango: "Mango just soaks up attention and loves to rub against us and give kisses! She is also very vocal and gives us a lot of meows when she wants attention."

Female - spayed
Domestic shorthair, calico/tabby
DOB: EST 11/22/12

- Should do well in a home with quiet, older children, other cats, and/or dogs.
- Rescuer was unable to keep her.

Activia is a sweet, friendly kitty who needs a quiet household. In fact, she's a wee bit bashful about being named after a famous yogurt. (You've seen the TV commercials with Jamie Lee Curtis, right?). In fact, Activia recently wrote a poem about her name.

There once was a cat named Activia,
Who wanted to be named Olivia.
Her yogurt-y name
Brought her so much fame,
She wanted to move to Bolivia.

You can get to know Activia whenever we're open. =^..^=

Male - neutered
Domestic shorthair, gray/black tabby w/white face, chest, & paws
DOB: EST 5/6/10

- Should do well in a home with other cats and/or dogs.
- We don't yet know if Luke does well with children, but he's awfully sweet!
- Owner passed away.

Luke's holiday foster mom has lots to say about him. "Luke is a doll. He has been a perfect gentleman the entire time he’’s been at my home. He’s definitely a foody! He also loves being petted and sleeping in baskets. He’s talkative, and he follows me around when he wants love or food. Although he likes to be alone at times, he doesn’t like to be confined. He’d be okay as an only cat, but I think deep down he likes having company. Luke is a sweet, confident boy with a lot of love to give."

Be sure you ask to meet Luke when you visit during our open hours.

Female - spayed
Domestic shorthair, brown tabby w/white
DOB: EST 5/10/08

- Feline Immunodeficiency Virus positive (FIV+)
- Should do well in a home with teenagers.
- Should do well in a home with other FIV+ cats or, under some circumstances, in a home with an FIV negative cat.
- We don't know if Fran would do well with a dog.
- Rescued from the middle of S. Atherton St.
- Would love to be adopted with Garth!

To say that Fran was shy when she arrived at PAWS in May 2015 would be an understatement. She was terrified of people and severely underweight. It took nearly a year of medical care, good food, and lots of love for Fran to be ready for her forever home.

She's still shy, but this teeny girl enjoys attention and gentle petting. She generally stays in her little cubby when there are people in her room, but when all is quiet, she ventures out to hang out with her buddy, Garth.

Fran needs a special adopter, with plenty of love and patience. If you think you have what it takes, please come by to meet Fran during our open hours. She is a very sweet cat, and you will be richly rewarded by having her in your life!

But only PAWS has BEAN! Bean is a wonderfully friendly, people-loving cat who needs a quiet home. He would be a wonderful companion cat. Guardian Angel Program Tom & Jerry

As a gift to our future family, our PAWS Guardian Angel has generously paid our adoption fee! Click on the angel icon to learn more about the PAWS Guardian Angel program.

Males - neutered
DOB: EST 5/19/09

Tom - domestic shorthair, black & white
Jerry - domestic shorthair, gray tabby & white

- Should do well in a home with other cats; dogs unknown.
- We don't yet know if Tom & Jerry do well with children.
- Owner moved and was unable to take them along.
- Might be a bonded pair.

Tom & Jerry are SUCH nice boys, gentle, friendly, sweet-tempered, and devoted to each other. They'll also do almost anything for a treat, including, in Tom's case, sitting up and begging!

Now, about bonded pairs. Cats can become deeply attached to each other and form strong bonds, just like humans do. Tom & Jerry may have such a bond, meaning they’d be very unhappy if they were separated. We’re currently evaluating whether the boys are bonded, but, for now, please regard them as a package deal!

Adopting Tom & Jerry together is a win-win situation for all of you! They (and you!) will live happily ever after together, and you will have two kitties who already get along and who will keep each other company when you're not home, so you won't worry that they're bored or lonely. Best of all, you'll have twice the amount of love in your life!

Stop by and meet Tom & Jerry during our open hours.

DOB: EST 2/5/05

- Should do well in a home with other FIV+ cats or, under some circumstances, in a home with an FIV negative cat; dogs unknown.
- Stray. Rescuer was unable to keep him.
- Would love to be adopted with Fran!

Garth was a sorry sight when he arrived at PAWS, with ears, eyes, and teeth that needed work, but the PAWS medical team went into action, and Garth is feeling much, much better. (Yes, we know he still looks a bit ragged, but we think that's part of his charm!) We've discovered that he's a friendly, affectionate little guy with a cute, quirky personality.

Here's the latest report from Garth's Pet Partner:

He's an easy-going guy with a very determined attitude. He gets along with other cats very well, and would love to be with a friendly cat in his adoptive home. He's energetic, loves to play with wand toys, and especially loves to be brushed and stroked. He loves sitting on a lap and being stroked from head to tail. He's a talker, and (in his croaky voice) lets you know he's glad to see you!

You can visit Garth during our open hours. Meanwhile, if you'd like some information about FIV, click on Garth's name.
