Charlie

Charlie

Charlie's Bio at the Time of Adoption:

This senior beagle is very sweet. We estimate that he is about 8 years old. He seems to be in reasonable health for his age. He is friendly and good with other dogs. Charlie was found in State College and spent about a month in the kennel while we tried to find his owner. He got a lot of attention at the kennel, so he's used to having company. Because of this, he has a little separation anxiety when he is left alone for long periods of time. He is crate trained, however, which helps the situation.

She is very friendly with people and with most other dogs. She needs a foster home.

China

China

China's Bio at the Time of Adoption:

This 4-year-old purebred chow actually descends from the same lines as one of Martha Stewart's chows. Raised as an only dog, China is good with other dogs, but used to being on her own. She has not been around young children or cats, but is good with children over 10. As a young pup, China's mother stepped on her, causing permanent damage to her left eye. The eye has been removed, leaving China with vision in her remaining eye. She has shown no signs of aggression, but due to her limited vision, China must be approached slowly. China has been the only "child" of a couple who will be traveling extensively over the next two years for work. Because of the constant relocation, they feel that they should find China a more permanent home. She can be shy around strangers, but warms up quickly. True to her breed, China is very loyal and very protective of her family. She will make a good guard dog, as she barks when strangers come to the door. She is very affectionate with her owners, knows many commands and is spayed, housebroken and up to date on shots.

Cracker Jack

Cracker Jack

Cracker Jack's Bio at the Time of Adoption:

Cracker Jack came into PAWS as a stray that no one claimed. He is neutered and housebroken and is being crate-trained in his foster home. He is an affectionate dog with a very "soft" mouth. He is extremely gentle when taking toys or treats from people. He does not have any food or object aggression issues and doesn't appear to have any fears or phobias. In the house, Cracker is happy just to be near "his people" and will adjust his activity level accordingly. Past the puppy chewing stage, Cracker doesn't seem to have much
interest in chewing anything at all (even dog bones and Kongs!). He will sleep through the night on a dog bed next to your bed (though he would love to be invited to sleep on the bed with you!). He has the playful energy level of a
labrador and loves to go for long walks (for the first few minutes, he will pull on the leash in excitement) and run in a securely fenced yard. He
certainly will make a loving companion for the right person or family.

Harrison

Harrison's Bio at the Time of Adoption:

This 11-year-old standard poodle was given up after one of his owners had a stroke. He is very sweet, though a little stressed right now. For an older gentleman, Harry is in pretty good shape, but he does have a couple of medical considerations. If you are interested in learning more about Harry, please speak to one of our dog coordinators.

Heidi

Heidi

Heidi's Bio at the Time of Adoption:

Every dog is good at something, and we've decided that Heidi is good at loving. She's a 8-year-old German Shepherd mix who came to PAWS after the death of her owner. Heidi loves to cuddle and to snuggle with you on the couch. While she was fostered, she was the official greeter, showing every guest the way in and encouraging them to pet her along the way. Heidi is well-behaved in the house, is about average in her activity and exercise and really craves love and affection. She absolutely loves children and would really like one or two of her own. Heidi is curious about cats, but we wouldn't go as far as to say she is good with them. Heidi does not like many other dogs, but seems to be OK with small dogs. She should be the only large dog in her new home. She would also do best in a home that did not need to walk her through a neighborhood filled with dogs. Though Heidi is older than many of the dogs currently on our list, we are sure that she will make a great companion for someone. What she needs most right now is someone to love her. Heidi is currently staying at Royal Pet Resort in Julian and being shown by appointment. Call 237-8722 ext. 2 to make an appointment.

(We think this will get better once he is neutered.) He has not been around cats. Henry needs a foster home.

Sugar

Sugar's Bio at the Time of Adoption:

One of Mirra's puppies... this little girl will be ready for adoption the second week of April. Sugar is the "alpha" of her litter. She is very friendly and sweet, but we recommend puppy obedience school for her. She is good with kids, other dogs and cats.

Sweet Pea

Sweet Pea

Sweet Pea's Bio at the Time of Adoption:

This 8-year-old fox terrier is very sweet and loves children. (She lives with several.) She is good with other dogs, but has not been around cats. Sweet Pea is the daughter of Oscar, who is also up for adoption. We would prefer to place the dogs together, but will consider separating them for the right home. Sweet Pea is spayed, up to date on shots and housebroken.

Tamara

Tamara's Bio at the Time of Adoption:

This 3-year-old spaniel/collie mix is going to be a great pet for someone. She is very sweet and calm. She is housebroken and up to date on shots. Tamara gets along with other dogs, but would be fine as an only dog, as well. She is very affectionate.

Trey

Trey

Trey's Bio at the Time of Adoption:

This 4-1/2-year-old boxer loves to snuggle! He's a very sweet dog, but is probably best suited to be an only dog. He is currently living with four other dogs, which makes him and his current owner a little stressed. Trey is housebroken and does well when left alone in the house. He is good with children. He loves to play fetch and to run outside. He is good off leash. He is neutered and up to date on shots.

Walker

Walker's Bio at the Time of Adoption:

This 8-year-old chocolate lab is neutered and loves people. He has spent most of his life as an outside dog, so he may need some training on housebreaking. (He has never had an accident inside, though, when he has been inside.) He is very friendly and well mannered. He likes other dogs and cats and wants to play with both. Walker is good with children, though his size may not make him a good choice for a home with very little ones. (He's 105 pounds!) Walker is up to date on shots and ready for a new home.

Wesley

Wesley

Wesley's Bio at the Time of Adoption:

This 7-year-old Springer Spaniel is very sweet and friendly. He reminds us of Silver, the Lone Ranger's horse, as he greets everyone by standing on his hind legs and pawing at the air, much like "High Ho, Silver, and away..." Wesley has plenty of love to offer a new family. He is good with other dogs and cats. He loves children, though he hasn't lived with them. Wesley's previous owner had medical problems that prevented him from giving Wesley the exercise he needed, which is why he gave Wesley to us. Wesley is currently in a kennel and needs a foster home.

Xena

Xena's Bio at the Time of Adoption:

This Yellow Lab will be 4 year old in October. She's had preventative surgery on both hips but has not had problems getting around. She takes a daily supplement to ensure easy motion. Xena would love a home with an avid walker. This Couch Potato needs the incentive to get back into shape. She'd love to walk and just wants to share it with someone. It's easy to see she has been well loved. Xena is UTD and spayed. She is being placed along with her beagle roommate, Bacci.

Zeus

Zeus

Zeus' Bio at the Time of Adoption:

We're estimating that this little pup is about 12 weeks old. He and his five siblings were found in Clearfield County along with their mother. The owner for the mom was found, but he did not want the puppies. The puppies are very sweet. The mother was a rottweiler mix, but we don't know about the father. We expect the pups to grow to be fairly large dogs. Poseidon has had his first round of puppy shots, has been dewormed and started on Sentinel.
