Boo and Scout apparently have never heard that curiosity kills the cat because they are brave explorers! They eagerly pounce on toys, rub against chairs, look out windows, and touch everything with their soft paws. We had a hard time getting them to hold still for their photo sessions! Their former foster mom says Scout is more openly affectionate, but Boo, who's a little more independent than her sister, still likes to stay close by her humans. They are the gentlest kittens imaginable. Be sure you visit these fun girls!

Domestic shorthair, buff tabby
DOB: 11/17/06

- Should do fine with somewhat older children, other cats, and dogs.
- Owners moved and couldn't take him along.
- Friendly, affectionate, and loves quiet attention!

Hunter is a little guy who's full of love and mischief! Pet him gently from the top of his head to the tip of his tail and he may roll over onto his back and beg for a very gentle tummy rub. He'll even (with some reluctance) allow himself to be cuddled and carried about like a baby.

Hunter has vision problems due to cataracts, so he startles easily and isn't fond of being petted with too much enthusiasm, so he'll do best with somewhat older children. However, his vision doesn't hold him back one bit!

When you visit him during our open hours, you may find Hunter curled up snoozing on the bench in the Cattery, but you're just as likely to find him roaming around the top of the cages. His favorite "game" in his foster home was unrolling bathroom tissue and dragging it throughout the house!

McQueen

McQueen

McQueen's Bio at the Time of Adoption:

Male - neutered
Domestic shorthair, gray with white patch on chest
DOB: ~ 2/8/09

- Should do well in a home with slightly older kids (because he plays very enthusiastically), other cats, and with dogs.
- Really enjoys the company of other cats and should be fine with a dominant cat.
- A stray whose rescuer already had plenty of cats.
- Tends to get underfoot and would not be a good choice for someone who's unsteady.
- Mr. Purrs-onality loves everyone!
- Very playful and a snuggly lap cat!

This handsome boy has had a pretty rough time; he was outdoors for at least a year before being rescued. McQueen sure would like a nice, warm forever home with plenty of treats and toys (and love)! If you happen to have a home like that (especially the love part), please visit McQueen Saturday, Sunday, or Monday evening at PAWS or Tuesday through Friday at Centre Hall Pet Supply. He is an awesome cat!

ADOPTED 4/12/14

Mindy

Mindy

Mindy's Bio at the Time of Adoption:

Female - spayed
Domestic shorthair, ginger with white chest
DOB: 3/5/07

- Should do well in a home with kids, other cats, and dogs.
- Owner could no longer care for Mindy and her sister, Tiffany.
- Smart, sweet, and likes to be played with.
- Affectionate, likes gentle pets, and will reward you with lots of purrs!

Mindy's foster mom has a great story about her! Mindy found two bags of treats in a kitchen cabinet, tore them open, and ate all the treats. When her foster mom taped that cabinet door closed, Mindy figured out how to open the other door, went inside, and took a nap!

Since Mindy has been in residence at Wiscoy, we learned even more about her. You know how cats just LOVE vacuum cleaners? (Yeah, right.) Well, our Mindy thinks the vacuum is the latest, greatest toy. When Wiscoy staff come close to her cage with the vacuum cleaner, Mindy gets down on the floor and puts both paws through the bars of the cage trying to grab it. When they open her door and vacuum the cage floor (this is not something they typically do!), Mindy wraps herself around it and plays! So if you need a "mother's little helper," mischievous Mindy's your girl!

ADOPTED 6/13/14

Minerva McGonagall

Minerva McGonagall

Minerva McGonagall's Bio at the Time of Adoption:

Female - spayed
Domestic shorthair, black
DOB: ~ 8/22/07

- Should do well in a home with quiet kids. Doesn't like a lot of commotion.
- Did not get along with other cats in her former foster home. Probably best as an only cat or in a home with one submissive cat.
- Loves to sneak into the dog grooming room at Centre Hall Pet Supply, where she spends the week, to check out the dogs!
- Would do well in a home with an older person or couple.
- Curious, playful, and gentle with people!

Minerva's former foster mom says Minerva is friendly and loves attention, as long as she's interacting with her preferred species -- humans! She's likely to bond very strongly with her person(s) and will be very loyal and a lap cat. Visit Minerva at PAWS on Saturday, Sunday or Monday evening or at Centre Hall Pet Supply Tuesday through Friday.

Please note that Minerva doesn't show well in her cage at PAWS. Too much hustle and bustle for this girl! She stays at the back of her cage and pretends to be shy. But visit her at Centre Hall Pet Supply, and you'll see the "real" Minerva! She rubs up against the bars of her cage, begging for attention, and rolls onto her back to show you her belly.

Mitsy

Mitsy

Mitsy's Bio at the Time of Adoption:

Female - spayed
Domestic shorthair, calico
DOB: 6/5/2005

- Will do fine in a home with kids & other cats.
- Probably would do well with a laid-back dog.
- Sweet-tempered, playful, & affectionate in her former foster home.
- Seems to prefer men to women.

Mitsy is a small cat with a big purrs-onality. She lived in a foster home and loved it, but going back and forth between her foster home and PAWS on weekends was very stressful for her, so now she lives at PAWS 24/7. Unfortunately, Mitsy doesn't really like living at PAWS 24/7! She needs a home of her own where she can flourish and be her true, playful, happy self.

When you meet her, she might be a tad grumpy, complete with little growly noises and a bit of catitude, especially if you’re female. She tends to be affectionate and a bit flirtatious with men! However, male or female, we all love Mitsy!

Be sure to click on Mitsy’s photo or name to read about what she’s like when she has a home. Once you read it, we hope you’ll want to give this special little cat a home of her own!

Molly

Molly's Bio at the Time of Adoption:

Female - spayed
Domestic shorthair, gray/black tabby w/white markings
DOB: EST 9/11/14

- Should do well in a home with kids and other cats; dogs unknown.
- Surrendered to a local animal hospital.
- Full of purrs feisty, and talks like crazy!

When visitors meet Molly, they'll never guess that when she arrived at the animal hospital, weighing barely a pound, she had been attacked and shaken by a dog. Her mother attacked the dog and saved Molly's life! The vets gave Molly a 10 percent chance of recovery, but after lots and lots of TLC from one of PAWS' amazing foster moms, Molly is doing well and is ready for adoption! Visit our miracle kitten on Saturday or Sunday!

Morris

Morris

Morris' Bio at the Time of Adoption:

Male - neutered
Domestic long hair, orange with white
DOB: EST 5/1/08

- Should do well in a home with kids and other cats; dogs unknown.
- Owner moved and couldn't take him along.
- Friendly with other cats and humans and loves attention!

Morris should be named Mr. Mellow -- he's just that calm and sweet tempered! Despite his easy-going nature, he leads a busy life. He enjoys strolling through the Cattery greeting visitors, young and old alike. He snoozes in other cat's cages to test them for their nap worthiness. He samples the food in other cages just in case it's tastier than the food in HIS cage. He hangs out on the PAWS porch when the weather isn't too nippy. Morris comes when you call his name. He loves to play and gets along well with the other cats.

Often, Morris sits at the door of the Cattery, looking through the window and down the hall. At first, we thought it was idle curiosity. But now we get it – Morris is patiently waiting for his Forever Family! Don't miss the opportunity to give this sweet guy his forever home. Visit Morris whenever PAWS is open.

Although Patty is FIV+, she stands a good chance of living a healthy life.

After serving her sentence at Rockview, Patty deserves a home where she'll be pampered and loved. If you'd like to meet our new inmate, please come to PAWS whenever we're open and ask for Patty!

The second thing you may notice about Pluto is that he's incredibly laid back and easygoing with humans and other cats alike. If you lean over to pet him, he may take a little leap into the air to get his head closer to your hand, and rub and bump against your leg in appreciation of your attention. Pluto is simply a wonderful cat! Get to know him whenever PAWS is open.

Purr

Purr

Purr's Bio at the Time of Adoption:

Female - spayed
Domestic medium hair, black
DOB ~ 7/1/08

- Should do well in a home with dogs.
- Best in a home with no cats or one submissive cat.
- Loves to sit next to humans to be petted.
- Named Purr because she...purrs. A lot.

You might wonder if Purr is as adorable as she seems to be from her photo. The answer is yes! She always looks a bit disheveled -- as if she's just gotten out of bed. And she does indeed have big round eyes. And she has enormous, furry paws!

Purr is a friendly, people-oriented kitty, who loves attention. When you think she's had enough, she might give you a little nip to let you know she disagrees! Thus, Purr wouldn't be a good cat for a home with kids, but she'd be a great cat for a quiet home with a cat savvy adopter. Please come to PAWS during our open hours and get to know Purr.

A favorite of the volunteers, she greets people at the door of the Cattery and keeps an eye on everyone and everything that's going on. So Snowball has a message for you, "I've been here for way more than a year, waiting for someone to discover how wonderful I really am. Won't you please take me home? You can visit me whenever PAWS is open. THANK YOU!"

Vac

Vac

Vac's Bio at the Time of Adoption:

Male-neutered, Front-declawed,
Domestic shorthair, white & orange
DOB: EST 7/1/08

- Should do well in a home with other cats.
- At this time, we don't know if he gets along with kids.
- Does not get along with dogs.
- Elderly owner could no longer care for him.
- Friendly, cuddly, likes to be petted.
- Big, handsome guy with a round face and silky fur.

No, we don't know why he's named Vac, but yes, it makes us think of a vacuum cleaner, too. However, he will NOT help you clean your house. We have tried to get him to mop floors at PAWS, and he's been uncooperative. (To be fair, it's hard to hold a dust mop in your paws.)

Nevertheless, we're pretty sure Vac will: sweep you off your feet, drive the cobwebs from your heart, soak up love like a sponge, mop up your tears if you're feeling sad, clean out his food bowl, and chase the dust bunnies under your bed.

Please note that Vac's name could be a hint that he vacuumed up too much cat food in his home. He needs an adopter who can help him lose some weight!

Visit PAWS on whenever we're open to meet Vac. Better hurry! As the saying goes, time and Tide wait for no man (or woman).

Valentino

Valentino

Valentino's Bio at the Time of Adoption:

Male - neutered
Buff Siamese mix
DOB: ~ 11/7/04

- Would do well in a home with kids, other FeLV cats, and dogs (as long as they're not too rowdy!).
- Abandoned at a local business.
- Tests positive for feline leukemia virus (FeLV).
- Super sweet and friendly, affectionate, and loves, loves, loves humans!

Valentino is a WONDERFUL kitty! The PAWS volunteer who's been caring for him says he loves to be petted and hang out with people. He's inquisitive, likes to play, and is very quiet ( not a peep out of him so far). When he went to get neutered, the vet tech said he just walked out of his carrier and got on the scale; she pointed to his carrier and he moseyed right back in. He didn't seem fazed by the dogs or cats at the veterinarian's office. Everyone who meets him falls in love with him!

Although Valentino is FeLV+, he appears to be in very good health. He has had comprehensive bloodwork, which looks good.

Valentino is a special kitty seeking a special home. Please stop by and visit him in our lobby on Saturdays and Sundays and fall in love!

We think you and the kittens will get along swimmingly! Visit them on Saturday or Sunday.

ADOPTED 11/5/14 - Dash
ADOPTED 11/5/14 - Splish

Willa

Willa

Willa's Bio at the Time of Adoption:

Female - spayed
Domestic shorthair, black and white tuxedo
DOB: estimated 5/1/09

- Should do well in a home with kids, a submissive cat, and dogs.
- Surrendered to PAWS because three other cats in home were bullying her. Sometimes they wouldn't even let her get to the litter box!
- Sweet-tempered and affectionate.

Willa's former mom says she's the friendliest, most laid-back cat she's ever know, and she misses her terribly! She wants Willa to have a home where she can be happy. If you'd like to give Willa a home where she can feel safe and secure, please come to PAWS during our open hours and meet this sweet girl!

William

William's Bio at the Time of Adoption:

Male - neutered
Domestic medium hair, silver gray tabby
DOB: ~ 11/1/07

- Will do fine in a home with other cats.
- Should do well with quiet, older kids.
- Does not get along with dogs.
- Loves to be petted, purry, sweet.

The first thing you'll notice about William is that he's utterly gorgeous. What a beautiful cat! Don't worry about his furry coat; a few minutes of daily brushing will keep it in check. He loves to be petted from the top of his head to the end of his tail and has a nice, rumbly purr. Stop by to get to know William whenever PAWS is open.
