Adonis

Adonis

Adonis' Bio at the Time of Adoption:

We hear a lot of stories about animals at PAWS, both good and bad, but this has got to be one of the saddest stories in recent months. Poor Adonis was thrown away, literally. The little kitten was found at the Centre County Solid Waste Authority transfer station having been thrown into a dumpster and left to die. Adonis meowed with all his might, and one of the workers heard him, dove into the dumpster and saved him. When he came to us, he was filthy, frightened and hungry. We got him cleaned up, took him to the vet, and now he's just starving for affection and a home of his own. Though he does have some minor nerve damage from the ordeal, Adonis will be able to live a normal, happy life.

Alley Oop

Alley Oop

Alley Oop's Bio at the Time of Adoption:

Nicknamed "Lovable" by the woman who rescued him, this white kitty was found prowling the streets in true alley cat fashion. We estimate that he is about 10 months old, and he will be neutered and up-to-date on shots before being released from PAWS. Though he's only been at the center for a short time, he has quickly lost his street cat ways and is content to sit and be pet. He purrs as soon as someone comes in the door. A real love!

Ashley

Ashley

Ashley's Bio at the Time of Adoption:

This fluffy, gray tiger girl is playful, outgoing, and loving! The look on her face tells you how intent she is on exploring her world. Ashley is the littermate of Mordak.

Baxter

Baxter

Baxter's Bio at the Time of Adoption:

This black and white boy is ready for action. He loves to play with the other kittens and chase catnip mice. Once he's got all his energy out of him, he's ready for lovin'. Then it's all about curling up on your lap!

Big Guy

Big Guy

Big Guy's Bio at the Time of Adoption:

Really he's not, toting about 13-14 pounds which may be a little on the big side but nothing compared to some of the 20 pound cats we've had at Paws in the past. Big Guy has been neutered and has beautiful markings. He's black and tan with swirls instead of stripes. Although he's been predominantly an outside cat in the past, he knows a good thing when it comes his way and hasn't made any attempts to regain freedom outdoors. He's very loving and gets along well with most other cats tending to prefer the females over the males. Big Guy was born around July 2000.

Blaze

Blaze

Blaze's Bio at the Time of Adoption:

Blaze is a one and one-half year old soon- to-be-spayed female.  She is a short haired  with a black body and white on her paws, chest and face.  She is a very quiet cat and one that seems cautious around other cats thought it does not appear that she dislikes other cats.  Blaze came from a family who felt they could not give her the attention she deserved.

Blinken

Blinken

Blinken's Bio at the Time of Adoption:

This gray girl has medium length fur and a penchant for attention. She is always mewing to have someone pick her up and old her... a princess through and through! She likes to play with other kittens, but is scared of dogs. Blinken's littermates are Winken and Nod.

Bosley

Bosley's Bio at the Time of Adoption:

The last of Callie's kittens, Bosley is actually enjoying playtime without the Angel kittens. Bosley is very playful and affectionate. He's good at keeping himself amused and loves to chase invisible toys that only he can see!

Bronco

Bronco

Bronco's Bio at the Time of Adoption:

Named after his favorite football team, this little orange and white kitten is ready for some major-league play time at your house. You would never know this 8-week-old kitten grew up in "the wild." He's very affectionate and playful, and likes to charge around and attack stuffed animals. Though he will pull away if you move to quickly towards him, he warms right up as soon as he's in your arms.

Buddy

Buddy

Buddy's Bio at the Time of Adoption:

Buddy is trying to tie the Guiness record for largest cat. He weighs in at a whopping 20 lbs. He's a definite candidate for a low cal diet. Buddy was born February 1999, and has had some behavior problems with nipping in the past which we are closely monitoring and have seen no evidence of so far. Buddy doesn't move very fast and doesn't jump (due to his size).

Buttercup

Buttercup

Buttercup's Bio at the Time of Adoption:

Buttercup is about one year old and is a spayed female. She is a cross between a tiger and a calico, with beautiful markings on her face. Her striping is multicolored, and she has dark stripes on her legs. Buttercup's fur is tan, orange, and buff, and each strand of fur is bicolored. Buttercup is sweet and petite -- only about 6 pounds! She seems to be a "loner" when it comes to other cats, but that may only be because she was protecting her kittens. The kittens are now all adopted and Mom still needs a place to live. Can she count on you to give her a home?

Callie Jo & Penelope

Callie Jo & Penelope

Callie Jo & Penelope's Bio at the Time of Adoption:

Need some activity in your house? Callie Jo and Penelope, these two littermates can provide it. These two beauties love to romp and play, tackling each other as well as any cats that come their way. They're a lively and loving pair.

Callie Jo

Callie Jo is the classic black, white and orange calico. She and her sister were born May 31, 2001.

Callie

Callie

Callie's Bio at the Time of Adoption:

Mother of our "Charlie's Angels" kittens, Callie is practically a kitten herself. We guesstimate her age to be about 10 months. She is  very affectionate and likes to roam around the house surveying her domain. She is good with most other cats, though she's a little tired of kittens these days.

Camellia

Camellia

Camellia's Bio at the Time of Adoption:

This little white kitten is a bundle of sweetness. She loves people and loves attention. She is OK with other cats, but a little timid.

CC

CC

CC's Bio at the Time of Adoption:

CC is a long-haired steel gray female. Born in 1995, she was previously owned by someone who recently moved and could not take CC with her. CC is a large girl who will require extra grooming to keep her fur silky and smooth. (CC was adopted by someone who was looking for a small dog!)

Cheddar

Cheddar

Cheddar's Bio at the Time of Adoption:

Cheddar is an orange tabby male with golden eyes! He is SO handsome,
fantastic, outgoing, curious, and FAST! He is not afraid of his foster
home dogs, and has become a special buddy with one of them. He adjusts
quickly to other kittens and cats, plays enthusiastically, flying through
the air after his "cat dancer" toy. Cheddar is very sweet with his
sister and his mother...as well as familiar people. He will
call to his foster mom when she comes into the room, and doesn't mind
being given a kiss or two. Cheddar and his sister Brie are Torrie's kittens. They were born August 2001.

Chloe

Chloe

Chloe's Bio at the Time of Adoption:

Chloe and Sophie - Sisters for the past four+ years, we would prefer Sophie and Chloe to be placed together. Chloe is the more vocal and active of the two at 4 1/2 years of age. She is a medium shade of gray with a white bib. Sophie is definitely the more laid back of the two. Sophie is blind in one eye (we're not sure what lead to the blindness), and is predominantly black with a white bib. Both are front declawed. If you've got room in your home for two, this duo are wonderful. (Chloe was adopted in 2001 and was subsequently returned to PAWS because her new owner could not keep her.)

Chrissy & Cassie

Chrissy & Cassie

Chrissy & Cassie's Bio at the Time of Adoption:

Which one is which? We can only tell by the personalities. Both are 6 1/2 month old spayed torties who were strays. Although they back away when you try to pick them up, Chrissy melts in your arms once she realizes you are not going to hurt her. Cassie loves to growl and is working on her socialization skills. She needs a little more time, however.

Christina

Christina

Christina's Bio at the Time of Adoption:

Christina is a little and very lovely kitty - a green eyed charmer. She id always happy to help you untie your shoelaces. Ricki, Myriah, Brittany, Christina, Jessica were born in April 2001. Their mom is Katie.

Cinta

Cinta

Cinta's Bio at the Time of Adoption:

Cinta and Kathykit are gorgeous, cuddly girls are two of the lucky kittens raised by Mandy. They're affectionate and well-versed in how to be a cat, thanks to their foster Mom.

Clancy

Clancy

Clancy's Bio at the Time of Adoption:

This little girl is the shy, quiet type. Though she'll purr when you pet her and comes right over when you approach, she doesn't go out of her way to seek affection. She's fond of napping... sunbeams are optional...and likes to play with catnip mice. She seems to like other cats and kittens.

Claudia

Claudia

Claudia's Bio at the Time of Adoption:

Louis, Lestat and Claudia: Named after the three vampires from "Interview with A Vampire," these black beauties are actually not out for blood. Each kitten is solid black with a white mark on its neck. All three are very friendly and ready to play. All three are ready for adoption.

Cleo

Cleo's Bio at the Time of Adoption:

Cleo was adopted before we could post her bio and photo.

Darry & Mike

Darry & Mike

Darry & Mike's Bio at the Time of Adoption:

Despite a rocky start, these orange tabby kittens are well adapted. Mike is the larger and more dominant of the two, but he is  very sweet.  He's getting used to the idea of snuggling and purring. Darry (pronounced like Dairy) is named Daragan, which means "little red one" in Gaelic. He is more passive and affectionate. He loves to climb. He has a small cut on his front paw that is healing. Other than that, both are healthy and ready for loving homes.

Ebony

Ebony

Ebony's Bio at the Time of Adoption:

Ebony and Sunny -- the Halloween kittens.  Didn't somebody tell them it's the wrong time of year!  Black and orange are in vogue at the end of October -- not the high heat of summer.  These little eight week olds want a head start on Halloween by having a few months in your house before it's treat or treat time.  In preparation for their holiday, they'll be happy to play tricks on you if you give them a treat.  Ebony is a black female with a little bit of white on her chest.  Her brother, Sunny, is an orange male with white on his chest and paws.  Take them together or alone.  They're sure to be sweeter than candy!

Emmylou

Emmylou

Emmylou's Bio at the Time of Adoption:

Naomi's little sister is also on the shy side, but far more adventurous in her explorations around the center and her foster home. She also loves to play with other cats.

Fiora

Fiora

Fiora's Bio at the Time of Adoption:

Fiora & Leonessa: These two ladies are quite the dynamic duo! They each had a litter of four kittens at the same time. Rather than ruining both their social lives, they simply took turns caring for the kittens, treating the group as one litter of eight and sharing the Momma Cat duties. Both of these lovely tigers will be spayed before they are adopted. Though they look very similar, when you look closely, you'll see that Leonessa has a streak of orange fur on her head.

Fithe

Fithe

Fithe's Bio at the Time of Adoption:

Stunning buff and white long haired cat, Fithe is nine years old and in need of a home without dogs. She was very unhappy in her former home which had two dogs. She is quite talkative and loves you to brush her beautiful long fur. Fithe is spayed and up to date on shots including the feline leukemia vaccine. Fithe has been diagnosed with ringworm and so will not be available for adoption for about 6 weeks.

Flower & Rosie

Flower & Rosie

Flower & Rosie's Bio at the Time of Adoption:

Can you look at these two without smiling? Flower is more of the snuggler of the pair and purrs up a storm. Rosie seems to always have her brow furrowed as if she is very concerned about something. She is actually a little shyer and less daring than Flower, but she tries not to show it!

Fozzie

Fozzie

Fozzie's Bio at the Time of Adoption:

Fozzie is the easiest one to tell apart from the his littermates, being the only orange kitten, plus the only male in the family. Fozzie, Gonzo, Scooter, Skeeter, Rolphia, and Beaker were born in August 2001. They came to PAWS when they were just two days old. Valencia is their mom.

Gabriella

Gabriella

Jorge & Gabriella: The last of Fiora and Leonessa's kittens, this cute little tigers are very loving. They are still getting used to the idea of being away from the pair of Moms, but getting more and more curious about things each day.

Gilligan

Gilligan

Gilligan's Bio at the Time of Adoption:

Gilligan a beautiful dark tiger kitten who is super friendly. He and his littermates, Skipper, Thurston, the Professor, and MaryAnn, were born around June 23, 2001. This little boy is the one most likely to get into all kinds of entertaining mischief. He was the first to learn how to "escape" from his nesting box, the first to figure out how to slip through the cat door into the living room. Gilligan will make a great little buddy!

Ginger

Ginger

Ginger's Bio at the Time of Adoption:

This little orange boy is such a cutie! He loves to play with the other kittens at the center. He's friendly and also loves to sleep on your lap.

Grace

Grace

Grace's Bio at the Time of Adoption:

Will, Grace and Karen are petite five-month-olds.  Grace is a short haired tortie with beautiful markings including white paws.  Her brother, Will. is what we call a black and white tuxedo -- black on the body with white paws, chest and belly.  Sister Karen is all black and short haired.  They love being held but not too much holding, it's much more fun to be running around on the floor batting at toy mice and balls.

Holly

Holly

Holly's Bio at the Time of Adoption:

Holly, daughter of former PAWS cat, Mrs. Murphy (see mom on Adopted Cats 2002 page) was born in August 2001. If you love big cats, Holly is a BIG cat...not a fat cat, just large, lean and very long. Holly is a beautiful grey and black classic tabby with bright green eyes. Her back looks like fine velvet tapestry. She is a shy girl, but loves ear and back scratches. She prefers not being picked up (which is a chore anyway!) but will come beside you asking for affection. Holly is quite intimidated by the activity at the PAWS Center, and will go out of her way to escape into a secluded nook and cranny where she can't be seen. Because of this, she has been staying in her foster home for the last couple of months and will show off much better for you there. (Special arrangements may be made to see this gorgeous gal).

Kit-Kitty

Kit-Kitty's Bio at the Time of Adoption:

Calling all seniors! We have a senior for you. Kit-Kitty is our newest addition to the senior population at Paws. She is an eight year old Calico/tiger mix. Kit-Kitty has the orange, black and white of a Calico but she has striping. Does that make her a Caliger or a Tigico? In any event, she doesn't care what you call her as long as you call her to come to your home. Kit-Kitty is front declawed, spayed and up to date on all her shots. She has been a totally indoor cat her entire life but when a baby brother (the two-footed kind) arrived last year, problems arose with allergies. Kit-Kitty tried her best to get along with her new brother, but wheezing and sneezing on her brother's part has forced her to come to Paws. Her former owner says she is a lap cat.

Malea

Malea

Malea's Bio at the Time of Adoption:

Malea is a tiny, nine-month, buff-colored, spayed female. Formerly a stray, Malea tangled with another animal who gave her a bite wound to the chest. She's still a little skittish after her ordeal but will make a wonderful cat for a patient owner.

Mandy

Despite being skinny and having just raised a litter of her own kittens, Mandy moved in with the second batch of kittens and took right to them, cleaning them and teaching them how to be respectable cats when they grow up! We've told her that eating sweets without brushing promotes tooth decay but she was so hungry that she ate anything she could find! Nickey had a broken front paw sometime in the past which, although healed, has left her with one paw about an inch shorter than the other. Consequently, Nickey cannot jump. Nickey has a very pleasant personality, doesn't seem to be bothered by much, and is looking to find a place to call home permanently.

He curls up, waves his paw at you lazily, purrs when you  talk to him, etc. Once he's free, though, it's a totally different story. He loves to run and charge around. He climbs, he jumps, he flies! Once he gets it out of his system, he reverts back to the peaceful little kitten from the cage, but during that first 15 minutes, you can really see why he's called Scooter! Scooter would be perfect for someone who wants an energetic addition to the family. He'd be a great exercise partner for any cat.

Scooter

Scooter

Scooter's Bio at the Time of Adoption:

Scooter is tabby like many of her siblings, but distinguishes herself with a small white patch under her. Fozzie, Gonzo, Scooter, Skeeter, Rolphia, and Beaker were born in August 2001. They came to PAWS when they were just two days old. Valencia is their mom.

Seca

Seca

Seca's Bio at the Time of Adoption:

(To the right of Laguna, his sister) Seca is a sweet little mackerel tabby who is quieter than his sister. Laguna and Seca were born September 2001. Jade is their mom.

Shansi

Shansi

Shansi's Bio at the Time of Adoption:

This beautiful young calico kitten is a bit shy, but is good with other cats. She would thrive in a quiet home.

Shay

Shay

Shay's Bio at the Time of Adoption:

This little boy loves to act tough, but he melts in your arms once you start petting him. At 8 weeks,  he's always playing or napping, taking the occassional moment to eat. He seems to love following the "big cats" around and is ready to find a place to call home.

Skeeter

Skeeter's Bio at the Time of Adoption:

Skeeter (whom we seemed to have missed at picture-taking time) has a white patch on her belly and chin and orange spots on her belly. Fozzie, Gonzo, Scooter, Skeeter, Rolphia, and Beaker were born in August 2001. They came to PAWS when they were just two days old. Valencia is their mom.

Skipper

Skipper

Skipper's Bio at the Time of Adoption:

Skipper is a short haired male who is predominantly gray with a little white. He is one of a litter of five kittens who arrived at Paws orphaned at the age of two weeks. He and his littermates -- Gilligan, Thurston, the Professor, and MaryAnn -- were born in June 2001. One of our volunteers, BJ, hand raised Skipper and his littermates (all named after characters from Gilligan's Island) until they were ready to be adopted. Skipper would really appreciate being rescued by you!

Skittles & Spree

Skittles & Spree's Bio at the Time of Adoption:

These two lovelys got adopted pretty quickly -- we never had a chance to post a bio for them!

Snickers

Snickers

Snickers' Bio at the Time of Adoption:

Snickers is another one of those kitties who got adopted fairly quickly. We never managed to post a bio for Snickers.

Sophie

Sophie

Sophie's Bio at the Time of Adoption:

Chloe and Sophie - Sisters for the past four+ years, we would prefer Sophie and Chloe to be placed together. Chloe is the more vocal and active of the two at 4 1/2 years of age. She is a medium shade of gray with a white bib. Sophie is definitely the more laid back of the two. Sophie is blind in one eye (we're not sure what lead to the blindness), and is predominantly black with a white bib. Both are front declawed. If you've got room in your home for two, this duo are wonderful.

Sparky

Sparky's Bio at the Time of Adoption:

Sparky got adopted so quickly that neither a photo nor a bio made it onto our Cats page!

Spike

Spike

Spike's Bio at the Time of Adoption:

This poor baby has had a rough life in recent months. Following the death of his owner, relatives came and cleared out the house, cat and all. Spike was left to fend for himself, eating trash and whatever else came his way. As a result of his poor diet, Spike had to have all but three teeth pulled upon his arrival at PAWS. He doesn't let that get him down, though! Spike still eats both wet and dry food, despite his missing teeth. He is very affectionate and loving. We estimate that he is between 8 and 10 years old, so he's about middle age in cat years, giving you plenty of time to enjoy him as a pet at your house. (Spike was PAWS Cat of the Month for August 2001.)

Spumante

Spumante's Bio at the Time of Adoption:

Spumante was adopted before a bio could be added.

Stormy's Kittens

Stormy's Kittens' Bio at the Time of Adoption:

The kittens are coming, the kittens are coming! This is just a sample of kittens that will be available for adoption throughout the rest of spring and summer. We get new litters in each week, so come out to the center or call to see who is available.

Stormy

Stormy

Stormy's Bio at the Time of Adoption:

Look at those eyes! Stormy is a beautiful black and white cat who recently gave birth to six kittens. She will be available for adoption in early May.

Sugar

Sugar

Sugar's Bio at the Time of Adoption:

This sweet dilute calico came to us after having some problems with her litterbox. She's been fine with us so far, but might be a bit choosy about the type of litter she uses. Sugar was born August 1996. She is spayed and front declawed.

Sunny

Sunny

Sunny's Bio at the Time of Adoption:

Tara

Tara's Bio at the Time of Adoption:

Tara found a new home so quickly, we never got a chance to post her bio or photo!

The Little Angels

The Little Angels

The Little Angels' Bio at the Time of Adoption:

Sabrina, Bosley, Kelly & Kris: Those of us who remember the original Charlie's Angels know where these cuties got their names! These three girls and lone boy are Callie's young kittens. Sabrina, peeking out from the front, is probably the most brazen of the bunch. All four are playful and loving. They'll need to put on a little weight before they can go to new homes, but we're taking applications on them right away!

Tigger

Tigger

Tigger's Bio at the Time of Adoption:

This beautiful, soft, and fluffy gray tiger kitten loves to be in your lap and to be "mothered." He is playful and has a very loud purr that is a joy to hear. This little gray guy is a bundle of energy, just like his cartoon counterpart! He loves to bounce and play and is very curious about the outdoors, though we don't let him out. Tigger is up to date on shots and gets along with other cats. He was born in April 2001. Tigger and Skye are siblings.

Topaz

Topaz

Topaz's Bio at the Time of Adoption:

Jasmine and Topaz, these Calico beauties, are approximately four months old and ready to romp.   They are both very playful, have wonderful purr machines, and won't sit still.  It's run at full blast for 30 minutes, then zonk out for a nap on your lap.  We tell apart by who has more white, but it doesn't matter because they're both beautiful, playful, and ready to be adopted.

Twix

Twix

Twix's Bio at the Time of Adoption:

This little buff female came in with her three siblings all of whom were adopted the first week at Paws. They were born August 16, 2001. She was left behind nursing a scratch on her face (most likely from playing too rough with her brothers and sisters) and feeling left out because she wasn't adopted yet. Since the vast majority of "orange" cats are males, Twix is considered the minority being a female.

Victor

Victor

Victor's Bio at the Time of Adoption:

Victor was adopted before we were able to post a bio for him.

Will

Will

Will's Bio at the Time of Adoption:

Will, Grace and Karen are petite five-month-olds. Grace is a short haired tortie with beautiful markings including white paws. Her brother, Will. is what we call a black and white tuxedo -- black on the body with white paws, chest and belly. Sister Karen is all black and short haired. They love being held but not too much holding, it's much more fun to be running around on the floor batting at toy mice and balls.

Winken

Winken

Winken's Bio at the Time of Adoption:

This gorgeous black and white kitten has medium-length fur and a dynamic personality. She is both playful and cuddly. She's inquisitive and loves to "stalk" other cats and kittens. Winken is in the same litter with Blinken and Nod.

Yoda

Yoda

Yoda's Bio at the Time of Adoption:

This lovely gray tiger kitten is a mixture of shorthair and an exotic breed. She has received a spinal trauma, but she's recovering and now can run about and play. Yoda should have an owner who will handle her gently and give her lots of TLC. She was born around April 2001.
